Inside Out 08 - Public Sector Week
Saturday November 15 - Friday November 21
November 2008

Public Sector Week is a chance for the public to experience first hand the diverse, interesting and unique work undertaken in the public sector.

During Inside Out 08 – Public Sector Week, the Justice portfolio will show the community that jobs in the public sector aren’t always about being stuck behind a desk processing paperwork.

'Doing Justice' is a series of presentations where you can learn first hand what it’s like to be a member of Adelaide’s crime fighting team.

SAPOL’s Paul Schramm, prosecutor Sandi McDonald and forensic scientist Ross Vining - each leaders in their professions - will discuss how their careers in the public sector have seen them involved in some of Adelaide’s most high profile cases.

The trio will present individually for 45 minutes, with Paul featuring on Monday 17 November, Ross on Tuesday 18 November and Sandi on Wednesday 19 November. The presentations will start at 12.30pm at the Pilgrim Centre, Flinders Street Adelaide. Entry is free but registrations are essential.

The presentations complement a range of other Justice Department initiatives during Public Sector Week including Living Books in Justice - an interactive opportunity for members of the public to talk to a range of Justice Department staff about their stories of working in the public sector. Entry is free but registrations are essential.

Another Justice-led event for Public Sector Week is 'Behind the Badge', which will showcase the exciting work of SAPOL. The event at the Thebarton barracks will also feature a display from Forensic Science SA.
