State Electoral Office (SEO)

The State Electoral Office administers all South Australian parliamentary elections.

The State Electoral Office has a legislative obligation to encourage community participation and promote an awareness of electoral matters. This is achieved by dissemination of information through the use of print media, the Internet, television and radio.

The Electoral Education Centre offers information sessions, supported by self exploratory, interactive computer software programs covering aspects of the development of Australian democracy, the three levels of government, local and international electoral systems and the various methods of voting and vote counting.

Resources for Teachers

The State Electoral Office website (www.seo.sa.gov.au) has teaching materials to download and interactive programs for your students to use.

The Electoral Education Centre also delivers sessions for community groups, teachers and primary, secondary and tertiary students throughout the State.
